Ingredients:
For the dough:
4 cups of all-purpose flour
1/4 cup of granulated sugar
2 1/4 tsp of active dry yeast
1/2 tsp of salt
1 cup of warm milk
1/4 cup of melted butter
1 large egg
For the filling:
1/2 cup of softened butter
1 cup of brown sugar
2 tbsp of cinnamon
For the icing:
1 cup of powdered sugar
1 tsp of vanilla extract
2-3 tbsp of milk
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
Add the warm milk, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients, and stir until a dough forms.
Knead the dough for about 5 minutes, until it's smooth and elastic.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Roll the dough out into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
Mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle it over the butter.
Starting at the long edge, roll the dough up tightly into a log.
Cut the log into 12 equal slices.
Place the slices in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the buns are golden brown and fully cooked.
While the buns are baking, make the icing by whisking together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
Once the buns are done, let them cool for a few minutes before drizzling the icing over them.
Serve warm and enjoy!
These cinnamon buns are deliciously sweet and easy to make, perfect for a breakfast treat or a dessert!
